At Jubilee we strive to offer a Christian atmosphere where parents can feel secure in the education that their dancer is receiving. We aim to have an atmosphere that encourages dancers to achieve excellence in dance while also building and supporting friendships with other dancers. We realize though that above all a dancer's relationship with the Lord is the most important! So with all this said, we consider a dance class successful not when a dancer has done the biggest leap or the most consecutive turns, but successful when a dancer leaves with a smile on her face and a friend under her arm. Success at Jubilee is measured by a dancer coming back to class excited because she memorized the Scripture verse or read her Bible every day last week. We measure success in the eyes of our dancers. Jubilee Dance School began in 2001 to fulfill a need. The need was Christian dance in Wake Forest. At the end of out first year of dance education Jubilee had two classes and eight students. Since that year Jubilee has continued to grow. Jubilee looks forward to serving not only the Wake Forest and surrounding areas but also serving young people in other locations through our videos and devotionals. DeAnna Stojan, director of Jubilee Dance School, has been actively involved in the dance community for seventeen years. DeAnna has taught dance at local dance schools, homeschool groups, and also at Jubilee for five years. Miss. DeAnna is passionate about teaching dance from a Christian perspective and being a positive role model for young ladies. Karen Boyd is the waiting room monitor at Jubilee! Miss. Karen has three children (DeAnna being one of them!) and has homeschooled all three. Miss. Karen enjoys crafts, sewing, water aerobics, and many other exciting hobbies! By default, Miss. Karen has been actively involved in the dance community for about fifteen years and has been in many dance school waiting rooms. She is excited to put her knowledge to work for us in our great waiting room. James and DeAnna got married in the summer of 2006 and James joined the "Jubilee Family". Mr. James has been serving in the airforce and is excited to now be serving families in the Wake Forest area with DeAnna. He can be found entertaining parents and siblings in the waiting room and also behind the scenes of Jubilee (he is teaching Miss. DeAnna how to hang pictures straight!). Mr. James looks forward to getting to know the families of Jubilee better. To reach him simply, CLICK HERE and write James in the subject line! Miss. Amanda is our special events teacher. Amanda grew up in Boston and has been involved in dance for over ten years! She has studied jazz, tap, ballet, pointe, hip-hop, and even lyrical. Amanda has her dance teacher's certification from Dance Teachers Club of Boston. |
